Karen joined us in 2025 and has been fundamental in supporting our transition from what feels like a disorganised, chaotic start‑up to a more professional and structured business with a clear direction for growth. We are very excited for what’s to come!

What does your role involve day‑to‑day?

I support the director in any way I can, and my work varies throughout the year. During the busy selling and planting seasons, I help ensure the smooth running of sales orders leaving the farm and assist with customer enquiries.

What inspired you to join this field?

I was looking for additional freelance work and felt ready to move on from the creative and support sector I’d been part of for 20 years. Stepping into the agricultural world felt like a great opportunity to learn something completely new.

What’s one skill you think everyone in your position should have?

Strong organisational skills! No matter the sector, being organised is fundamental to the role of an administrator.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Being part of a small team and knowing that what I do makes a difference.

How has your role evolved since you started?

I began by assisting with setting up processes, and now I’m more involved in the day-to-day sales operations throughout the season. Over Spring/Summer, we’ll be continuing process development, refining Health & Safety, and tackling other key areas.

What challenges do you enjoy tackling the most?

I enjoy being part of setting up efficient processes that help everything run more smoothly.

How do you like to start your morning?

With 10–15 minutes of yoga to set my intentions for the day.

Your go‑to productivity hack?

A good old‑fashioned list. It never fails.

Your favourite way to unwind after work?

Watching a good film, listening to music, or settling down with a book.
